Exeter

Exeter, situated on the River Exe, is the capital city of Devon and is full of ancient history and culture - the cathedral dates back to Norman times. Centrally located within the county, Exeter provides the ideal base from which to explore the whole county, including Dartmoor National Park and beautiful beaches along two coastlines. Guided tours of the city are available through the Red Coat Guides. Nearby attractions include Killerton House at Broadclyst, Seaton Tramway and Morwellham Quay. The city has an excellent range of shops, three cinemas and many different restaurants and pubs – there are also several theatres, a ten-pin bowling centre and Westpoint entertainment complex nearby. Exeter Summer Festival takes place at the end of June/beginning of July each year, hosting a wide range of acts from dance to comedy.
