I was taken here as a surprise for my birthday this year and I wasn't disappointed! Award winning Mastella Restaurant at the Merchants Manor Hotel in Falmouth is airy and is attached to the hotel lounge where you can relax and enjoy a drink while choosing from the superb choice of menus which include delicious vegetarian and flambe specialities, with an exciting choice of locally grown produce and local fresh seafood. I chose the salmon for my starter; cooked perfectly with a very tasty and generous portion of cherry tomatoes and spinach followed by a very delicious and perfectly textured wild mushroom risotto. My husband devoured the duck liver pate followed by lamb shank with copious amounts of fresh seasonal vegetables. Unfortunately neither of us had room for dessert but we were given two individual boxes of Thorton's chocolates to enjoy with our coffee. Although we weren't drinking wine, the menu shown to us was certainly impressive. I would recommend you call to make a booking and also check whether there is a large function going on at the same time as it may affect how quickly you get served a drink at the lounge bar. - SG -
