The Hidden Hut, Porthcurnick

This quirky wooden beach-side shed is conveniently located on the South-West Coastal Footpath just over looking Porthcurnick beach which is one of the most beautiful and undisturbed coves on the South Cornish coast and is about half a mile along the coastal path from the picturesque fishing village of Portscatho. It serves simple fresh food and drink from March through to October. Everything is to take away, but there’s an outdoor seating area to the front with uninterrupted views out to sea and across the bay to Portscatho if you want to sit down and relax and take in the views. You can’t drive up to it, you have to walk – but we think that makes it all the more special. The hut is owned by the National Trust but, since Easter 2011, has been run independently by local couple Jemma & Simon, and Jemma’s mother Maggie (the all-important cake baker!). During the Spring, Summer and Autumn months the hut serves light lunches, delicious snacks and hot & chilled drinks. The local organic ice creams and homemade cakes are a must to try! It's a bit different, but it works.
