Porthcurno Telegraph Museum, Porthcurno

Porthcurno Telegraph Museum is located underground - as a major cable station during the World Wars, it was an obvious enemy target, and so operations needed to be safeguarded. Porthcurno has long been an important centre for international communications. There are various exhibitions at the museum, including 'The Hurricane of 1861', 'Launching a Giant' and 'How the Mighty Fall', and there is also an exhibition portraying the history of the parish of St Levan. For children, there are quiz trails, games, puzzles, touch-screens and gardens with play areas. There are also history and science workshops. The museum has a shop where drinks and snacks can be bought. The museum is open every day from 10am from mid March to November. During the winter, the museum is open on Sundays and Mondays.
