Porthallow to Gillan Creek (3.5 miles - easy-medium difficult)

Park your car at Porthallow beach (pay and display) and start your path behind the beach where signposted. As you pass above Nelly's Cove, you will be able to see across to St Anthony Head and the Roseland if the weather is fine. Further on, you will pass Fletching's Cove, Nare Cove and then Nare Head. At Nare Head, climb the stile to Nare Point. Passing an old Observation Point, head on towards Parbean Cove. When you reach the footbridge, cross it and continue along Lestowder Cliff. From here, walk down through the woodland into the village of Gillan. The path will then take you past Flushing Cove beach - if the tide is out, follow the signed route, crossing the river. If the tide is in, follow the path around the headland to finish your journey at Gillan Creek. This will add approximately 2 miles to your journey and will involve walking on roads. It is worth noting for your return journey that there are very few buses between Gillan Creek and Porthallow.
