Ocean Sports Centre

The Ocean Sports Centre in Carbis Bay was borne out of passion for the ocean and a desire to share that with other people. Based at the stunning beach of Carbis Bay, near St Ives, Cornwall they provide a variety of water and beach based activities - catering for the first time paddler to group and family tours. In single and double kayaks or right up to the four and six man Hawaiian canoes. NEW for 2013 sailing, they now have a fleet of Toppers available for hire (prerequisite required), group or individual lessons. For those who would like a little more adrenaline on a day at the beach we can take groups out surfing in the Hawaiian outrigger/canoe (the only place this is done in the UK), learn how to walk on water with one to one Stand Up Paddle board (SUP) lessons, or buzz around the bay in the amazing ‘Flying Cat!’. Don’t rely upon the weather forecast! Carbis bay has a unique ‘micro climate’ often, rain can be seen hitting the opposite beaches at Godrevy while Carbis Bay is basking in glorious sunshine (keep posted on the ocean sports centre Facebook page to keep up to date on beach conditions and activities). Rather than watch the weather forecast, take a quick look out of the window in the morning – if you don’t like what you see look again in five minutes! YOU ARE IN SAFE HANDS Ocean Sports Centre are the only provider of sailing lessons and hire on the North coast of Cornwall and licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). They have their own in house Royal Yachting Association (RYA) senior instructor, British Canoe Union (BCU) and beach lifeguard qualified staff aswell as their own safety boat.
