Coasteering

Coasteering has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years, almost putting it on a par with sailing and surfing as a favourite activity with visitors. This wet and wild activity was conceived on the cliffs of Pembrokeshire in Wales but coasteering has found a natural home on the Cornish coast. This exciting mix of climbing, scrambling, swimming and cliff jumping is an amazing way to experience Cornwall's stunning coastline, providing access to areas that you would never see otherwise. You can scramble around the tip of rocky headlands, swim into sea caves, ride swirling whirlpools or test your nerve by plunging into the ocean from high ledges. Coasteering is also a great way to explore the local marine life and you may even have a close encounter with a seal or dolphin. Cornwall is a top class coasteering destination with a number of popular locations for practising this activity, plus many others waiting to be explored. Coasteering should only be attempted under the supervision of accredited instructors. The coastal environment is a savage place to be without the correct equipment, sea knowledge and safety back-up. All coasteering sessions are led by qualified and experienced guides. For further information on abseiling in the county, please follow the link below to Adventure Cornwall. Adventure Cornwall have many contacts in outdoor pursuits, and are well placed to advise you of where to go and what to do during your Cornish Cottage Holiday.
