The River Camel's name is derived from the Cornish language - the crooked one - because of its winding course. The river and estuary covers a distance of around 30 miles so is a good location for water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. It is possible to take a trip from Padstow to Wadebridge, floating with the tide and exploring the inlets and channels along the way.
