The Cornish Maritime Trust, Falmouth and Mousehole

The Cornish Maritime Trust, founded in 1994, has four historic working vessels which have been restored to sailing condition - the Barnabas, Softwing, Ellen and Sea Urchin. The boats are based in Falmouth and Mousehole. These vessels are representative of some of the most important rigs used in the nineteenth century Cornish fishing industry. Members of the charity actively sail the boats, and support the preservation of Cornish maritime heritage through educational projects and social activities. Membership is £20 per year, and all members are welcome to make suggestions and organise trips. Members who are planning on coming to Cornwall on holiday can also book one of the boats for their own personal use for a few days (there is a suggested donation to the Trust for this service). For further details of the Trust, or to become a member, please follow the link to the right.
