Mawnan Smith

Mawnan Smith is a pretty little village near the mouth of the Helford River. The village has a thatched inn, a church, several shops and a restaurant. The church sits on the edge of the cliff overlooking the mouth of the river. There are several gardens to visit in the area, including Glendurgan, which is owned by the National Trust. Glendurgan gardens were created in the 1820s by the Fox family, and include a laurel maze. Glendurgan house is not open to the public. The Ferry Boat Inn, situated on the north bank of the river, is over 300 years old.
