The market town of Kingsbridge in South Hams has a wide range of shops, restaurants and pubs. South Hams has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has something for everyone including woodland, valleys and beautiful beaches. The area is also home to many art galleries, an open air theatre, a vineyard, a museum dedicated to the chemist William Cookworthy, and countless gardens. There is also an estuary where egrets and peregrines can be seen amongst other birds. From the coastline, you may also catch sight of the porpoises and dolphins which frequent the area. Annual events include Kingsbridge Music Festival each June and Kingsbridge Fair Week each July.
