Paignton is popular family resort on the south coast of Devon. It forms part of an area known as Torbay. The beaches in Paignton are arguable the best in Torbay – they are sheltered form the prevailing winds and have good facilities, including bars, ice cream kiosks, restaurants, beach shops and various different beach activities. Paddle boats, canoes and wetsuits can be hired form the beaches, and motor boats and cruise boats can be hired from the harbour. Paignton is home to many different restaurants and bars, shops and attractions, providing something for everyone. Attractions include Paignton Zoo and the Dart Valley Steam Railway, and the coastal footpath stretches for miles around the bay. Annual events in Paignton include Torbay Carnival Week each July, and Paignton Regatta each August.
